I heard recently that the Virgin and the Harlot are the SAME person.
The basis for this is from this passage in Revelation 12
1A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. 5She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
The woman gave birth then fled to the desert.....
A few chapters later in Rev 17 we return to the desert....and lo....another woman? or the same one?
3Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5This title was written on her forehead:
MYSTERY
BABYLON THE GREAT
THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.
Is it one woman or two....
It is quite plausible it is one...since the state of the church has degraded so terribly...but it's still a little unnerving since we all grew up hearing that the Virgin represented the Pure church (us)...and the Harlot represented the False Churches (Babylon)

We've been discussing it for 2 months now. People are just not ready or willing to accept that our church could end sooooo poluted. I'M NOT!!
But like I said... I got this from a pastor..... an SDA pastor...and the whole church went quiet..reeeeeeeeeel quick!

This sounds intersting... Let me weigh in on this....
I've never heard of that.
But there are probably two different women.
One is pure and the other is the Mother of Harlots.
Yeah... Iknow they were both in the desert..but they were probably catfighting out th'rrrrr.

I disagree....
I think its the same one....
But I dont think she represents US... per se
I think she represents...Christianity as a whole....
It started off pure.....then degraded and splits into so many factions and denominations...
Now it just one big mess!!
Thats the way I learned it....

The woman of Revelation 12 is not a virgin. She is pregnant.
Actually, these are symbols. These two symbolic women are both SUPPOSED to be in a covenant relationship with Jesus. The pure woman is faithful to Jesus and the harlot is not.
The person who told you they were the same is PARTLY correct. Originally, there was one woman. One group who were in love with Jesus and were faithful to him. This group is the early church. At some point in time SOME of the church began to be unfaithful to Jesus. In our time, there are two groups - those who are faithful to Jesus and those who are not.

Its talking about the birth of christ the first part.
the second part is taling about the catholic church how it had change and had killed the christians. If you look at the catholic church they have scarlet robes.
In the last days the truth about this church will be revieled. That is is the anti christ church.
